First Crime SyndicateEdit
Either on the parallel world of Earth-3, an anti-matter Earth, or the world of Qward in the Antimatter Universe, the only super-powered beings were five villains who banded together to form the Crime Syndicate. The membership was comprised of Ultraman, Superwoman, Owlman, Power Ring, and Johnny Quick, and they used their powers for looting and extortion. At one point they came to our world and battled the combined might of the Justice League and Justice Society. All died during the Crisis in which the Anti-Monitor tried to destroy the positive matter universe(s).
Second Crime SyndicateEdit
In the antimatter universe, there was a parallel Earth on which evil always won. An Earth dominated by corruption and greed, where colonial Britain’s break from its parent America had led to centuries of war, where injured astronaut Clark Kent, repaired by aliens, became the evil powerhouse Ultraman, banding together with other super beings to become the Crime Syndicate of Amerika, acting as masters of the globe from their Panopticon headquarters on the moon.
Johnny Quick, in particular, “murdered his predecessor and extracted his blood to create a superspeed drug that he has to inject regularly.” (Grant Morrison in interview). Like most speedsters, he lacked patience, and he seemed most comfortable in the Syndicate with Power Ring—the other second-generation member.
This Earth’s sole super-hero, Alexander Luthor, discovered a positive-matter universe, calling its Justice League of America in to free the world from the tyranny of evil. Unfortunately, the League was doomed to failure, and Luthor discovered he himself had been manipulated by Braniac, who sought to break down the barriers between worlds and enhance himself with the energy from the two Earths annihilating each other. The JLA realized they could not defeat Braniac, and abandoned him to the CSA, who savagely defeated him. Ultimately, the JLA succeeded only in stirring the pot to make things more interesting for the Crime Syndicate.
Earth-3 in the 52 Multiverse was a world on which evil always triumphed over good. Where the heroic Justice Society came about on most worlds, here the villainous Crime Society instead took root, becoming overlords of their world.
The Crime Society was similar to the Crime Syndicate of the Anti-Matter Earth, and featured a malevolent speedster called Johnny Quick.
Known heroes of Earth-3 include the Jokester.
The Crime Society happily joined forces with the universe-hopping Monarch. Johnny Quick represented Earth-3 against the Earth-2 Flash and Tangent Flash, and participated in the invasion of Earth-51.
Johnny Quick was on Earth-51 when Monarch’s armor ruptured, destroying everything in the universe. He may have died, but his super-speed reaction time could have saved him, especially if he’d mastered the speedster ability of dimensional travel.
