History
Azazel was an angel who was condemned to Hell along with the rest of Lucifer Morningstar‘s rebel army. Eventually he rose in the ranks to become one of the three princes of Hell, along with Lucifer, and another demon Beelzebub. Recently Lucifer emptied and closed Hell and delivered the Key to Dream of the Endless. Azazel tried to barter with Dream by offering to exchange the soul of one of Dream‘s jilted lovers for the Key. Dream battled and imprisoned Azazel in a small jar, which he keeps in his desk.
